Business can expand thanks to improved server performance:
In order to improve server performance we went from from one hardware platform to two hardware platforms. Even though it sounds that two will consume more energy then one, we made it to lower energy consumption with two servers as we incorporated latest Dell technology server platforms and replaced old server platform that was utilizing energy 5x higher then two servers joined. And what we did, we increased server performances by splitting application layer from centralized server role. Both server platforms use Dell RAID-1 and RAID-5 for hardware redundancy and hot-plug technology for quick hard-disk replacement without interrupting end-users.
Project is completed ahead of plan:
This migration was from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 platform, and it was much easier task for us to do this, then when we migrated same environment from Windows Server 2000 to Windows Server 2003 where we got challenged with more difficulties. Fortunately Microsoft and Dell are working together improving their parts and making IT support migration painful for our clients. So we ended up finalizing our project ahead of projected time.
